Obituary of Carolyn Ruth Morris

Carolyn R. Morris, 60, of Ohio, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Divine Mercy Continuing Care Hospital in Peoria, following a courageous and extended illness.

Carolyn was born on September 11, 1965, in Cavalier, ND, to Mavis (Austfjord) Edie. She enjoyed living a simple, quiet life and found her greatest joy in the beauty of the outdoors. Carolyn loved tending to her wildflowers and gardening, embracing the peace that nature brought her. She treasured time spent with friends and loved ones, but her greatest pride and joy was her grandson, William. Being his “Grandma” was a role she held close to her heart.

Carolyn was deeply proud of her Icelandic heritage and found joy in sharing those traditions and stories with her family. Her roots and family history were a meaningful part of who she was.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Kaliesha (Travis) Miller of Neponset, Illinois; beloved grandson, William Miller; son, Trystan Morris of Seattle, Washington; sisters, Alonna (Maurice) Tate of Lancaster, California, and Stacie Budde of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Merrill (Stacy) Geiger of Kingston, Washington, and Frank Budde of Peru, Illinois; significant other, Anthony Watson of Ohio, Illinois; beloved aunt, Carolyn Abel of Owensboro, Kentucky; along with many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis.

Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a family service will be held later this summer in North Dakota, where she will be laid to rest. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.CSofIL.com.

Carolyn will be remembered for her love of family and the quiet strength she carried through life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
