Obituary of Douglas Mitchell Carroll

Douglas Mitchell Carroll, 63, of Bellevue, IL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born in Kewanee, IL on February 14, 1963, to C.H. and Mary K. Carroll.

With an enduring love of the outdoors, walking in the woods was a favorite pastime. Douglas previously owned DC Landscaping and always enjoyed working with plants. He also loved vintage sports cars, adventures, and was known for his dance moves. Compassionate and always putting others before himself, Douglas will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.

Douglas was a former member of the Army National Guard and was involved in various church groups.

He is survived by his partner, Kimberly L. Smith and her children, Sarah and Mitchell. Also surviving are his three children in Texas, Hannah (Marcus) Scoby-Jordan, Aidan (Sophie) Burke, and Quinlan Carroll, together with five grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his sister, River (Barry) Taya and three brothers, Craig (Tammy) Carroll, Dana Carroll, and Dru (Lisa) Carroll, plus nine nieces and nephews, along with many caring friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.H. and Mary K. Carroll, and stepmother, Phyllis Carroll; one daughter, Tiffany Carroll; and his sister-in-law, Kim Carroll.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family.
