Obituary of Thomas L. Mullins

Thomas L Mullins, 68, of East Peoria, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Born on May 10, 1958, to William and Mary (Mitchell) Mullins, Thomas grew up in Metamora and graduated from MTHS in 1976.  On August 22, 1980, he married his lifetime love, Maya Roe, in Peoria, Illinois.  Together, they shared 46 years of marriage grounded in partnership and family. 

A natural handyman who could figure out anything, he was the person his family could always rely on to solve problems.  Thomas spent 28 years as a dedicated employee at Mitsubishi Motors where he retired in May of 2016.  Following his retirement, he embraced various hobbies like model ship making, watching the Cubs and Bears on TV, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maya Mullins; his children, Jason Mullins, Daniel (Eryn) Mullins, Mitchell (Sabrina) Mullins, Zachary (Chelsea)Mullins; as well as his many beloved grandchildren, Lilly, Tommy, Audy, Wyatt, Brady, Scarlette, Tobias, Josie, Thea, Maverick and Sawyer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Mullins, and his son Eric Mullins.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family.  In accordance with his wishes, traditional funeral services will not be held.  The family will gather privately at home to celebrate his life and honor his memory.  Online condolences may be left at www.CSofIL.com.
