Obituary of Faw C. Lane, Jr.

Faw C. Lane, Jr., 66, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born in Peoria on December 5, 1958, to Faw, Sr. and Etna (Ball) Lane. He married Diane Jenkins in Burlington, IA on December 17, 1999; she survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Meghan (Davon) Thomas; one son, Brandon Lane; daughter, Courtney Lane; his brother, Richard Lane; one sister, Ruth (Tim) Mahony; 2 grandchildren, Marcellus and Luca Thomas; two uncles, John Lynn II and Frank Lynn; one aunt, Mary Lynn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Faw worked in the auto parts and heavy truck parts industry for 50 years and got great joy from helping people. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and working on small engine equipment, especially yard equipment.

He was very civic minded and served as the President of the Sterling Oaks Neighborhood Association and was a member of the Peoria Neighborhood Alliance.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at The Fondulac Park District Administration Center at 201 Veterans Dr., East Peoria, IL, 61611.
