Obituary of Warren Paul Smith

Warren Paul Smith, 88, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Carle Health Pekin Hospital.

Warren was born in Pekin, Illinois, to James William and Dorothy Mae (Lawson) Smith on November 15, 1936.  He married Frances Maneno in 1957 and they raised three children together.

Warren is survived by his daughter Sherri Nichols; sons, Larry & Terry (Jacqueline) Smith; grandson Derek (Amy) Nichols; and granddaughter, Caitlin (John) Clark.  He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Drew, and Ivey Nichols.   

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents; his brother, James William Smith Jr.; and his sister, Mary Louise Smith.

Warren loved working for many years at Rock Island Railroad and he retired from Keystone Steel and Wire Company.  Warren will be remembered for the many, many interests and hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life and for being able to work on and fix anything.

In keeping with Warren's wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held. He will be missed dearly by all those who loved him.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Central Illinois is assisting the family.
