Obituary of Lauri Ann Goeken

Lauri A. Goeken,62, of Washburn, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at her home. Lauri was born in Peoria, IL on March 18, 1963, to Richard "Dick" and Donna (Wittmer) Thomas. She was engaged to Doug Bill from Low Point. She is survived by her mother; her siblings, Pamela Thomas of Champaign and Richard "Rick" Thomas of Pattonsburg IL; and her 4 children, Brynna Porch, Derric Porch, Zach Goeken, and Allison Goeken.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dick Thomas.

Lauri earned her nursing degree from ICC and Methodist College of Nursing. She worked as a Pediatric RN at Pekin Hospital for many years, as well as at area nursing homes.

Lauri was a lifelong member of Pattonsburg Christian Church. She was baptized as a teenager by Milford Arndt at PCC and was a member of the choir. Lauri loved bunnies, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching The Lord of the Rings.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Lauri's Memorial Service will be held at Pattonsburg Christian Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family.
