Obituary of Dorothy Irene Bishop

Dorothy I. Bishop-Connor, 90, of Peoria, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was born on May 13, 1935, in De Witt, Arkansas, to William Connor and Roselyn Van Horn; they preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bishop; her daughter, Rhonda Weathers Dowling; 2 brothers; her grandson, Jonsey Weathers; and several aunts and uncles.

She was the second of 4 children. Surviving is one sister, Rita Biswanger of Arkansas; her son, Richard Weathers of Peoria; daughter, Cindy Weathers of Peoria; 4 grandchildren, Corey and Rachel Gumm of East Peoria, Josh and Michelle Gumm of Peoria, Tera Gumm of Washington, and Brittany Weathers of North Pekin; and 13 great grandchildren.

Dorothy lived a good, long life. She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching Lifetime shows and the company of her family. She will be dearly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family.
