Obituary of Mark N Bartholomew

Mark N. Bartholomew, 67, of Chillicothe, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on June 28, 1958, to George Bartholomew and Donna Worden. He married the love of his life, Tammy (Meinert) Bartholomew on June 8, 1985. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Abby Bartholomew of Peoria, IL, and Cody (Shelbi) Bartholomew of Chillicothe, IL.

Mark lived a life filled with simple pleasures and deep love for his family. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and in his earlier days, loved to hunt. He enjoyed fishing, boating, working in the yard, and spending time at Mark Twain Lake, where vacations meant relaxation, laughter, and plenty of fishing. Family fish fries were among his favorite times, bringing everyone together in the way he cherished most. Mark was employed at L.R. Nelson for 29 years and spent the last 8 years working at OSF St Francis.

He is survived by his wife Tammy; his children Abby and Cody (Shelbi); 2 grandchildren; Siblings, Melinda (Scott) Fisher of Pea Ridge, AR, Michelle (Charlie) Graves of Dripping Springs, TX, and Scott (Steffany) Bartholomew of Pea Ridge, AR; along with 11 nieces, 7 nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Donna Worden; father, George Bartholomew; his sister, Debbie Richardson; his stepfather, Gerald Worden and grandson, Baby B.

Mark will be remembered for his love of family, his humor, his hardworking spirit, and the way he made every gathering brighter. He will be dearly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family.

The Celebration will take place on October 4, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Peoria Casting Club, 1530 N 2nd Street in Chillicothe. We will have food and beverages, but you are more than welcome to bring your own. Please dress in casual attire and bring your stories and memories of Mark. We love and miss you, Mark!
