Obituary of Matthew B. Wade

Matthew B. Wade (Swamp Water), 68, of Princeville, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 19^th, 2025, at Carle Health Proctor Hospital in Peoria.  He was born in Chicago on January 1^st, 1957, to Cleveland Jr. and Ireene (Beltz) Wade. He married Barbara Ann Elston on July 7^th, 1978.  They were married 36 years before Barb passed away. She preceded him in death on December 5^th, 2014.

Matt was a truck driver for 30 years.  He was a sweet, loving and giving soul who loved his family and friends.

Matt is survived by one brother, William (Kathy) Wade of Texas, two children, Vernon (Kari) Wade of Princeville and Katie Wade of Chillicothe, and 3 grandchildren, Brandon (Kelly) Wade, Jenna Wade and Tate Wade.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers,Daniel, Walter, Lyle (Red) and Harold Wade, and four sisters,Janet Quilhot, Alice Bonnell, Margaret Wade, and Mary Collins.

Matt will be cremated by Cremation Specialist of Illinois.

Visitation will be October 18^th, from 11 am -1 pm at the Princeville Baptist Church, 235 W. Douglas Street in Princeville.  Please join the family for a meal from 1pm – 3 pm at the church.
