Obituary of Johnny L Williams

Johnny L. Williams, 85, of East Peoria, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, at River Crossing of East Peoria. He was born on February 4, 1937, in Memphis, TN, to Elmer and Viola (Jeter) Williams, one of 13 children. He married Mary Summers on May 4, 1957; she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by his four children, David (Sue) Williams of East Peoria, Rhonda (Tom) Mitchell of Naples, FL, John “Chuck” (Cindy) Williams, and Stephen (Debra) Williams, both of Sunnyland; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister Betty of Texas; and brother, JR of Dyersburg, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings. Johnny retired from Caterpillar in 1985 and opened his own business, South County Overhead Door Company in St. Louis. In his free time, Johnny enjoyed spending time at the riverboat and playing pool with his friends. He always had a motorcycle and spent a lot of time riding and building/fixing bikes. Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be private. Inurnment will be in the family cemetery in Arkansas. Cremation Specialist of Central Illinois is assisting the family.
