Obituary of Carol Jean Gamber

Carol J. Gamber, 80, of East Peoria died at 5:07 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on June 25, 1942, in Peoria, to Dorothy Billings and Romaine Bowling. She married Raymond H. Gamber on June 15, 1961, in Peoria. Surviving are three sons Roy L. (Jennifer) Gamber of Metamora, IL, Rex A. (Chris) Gamber of East Peoria, IL, and Jeffery R. (Stephanie) Gamber of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Tim Bowling and Randy Neidig; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Shelton and Charlotte Windsor; and her brother Tom Bowling. Carol was very close to all the surviving family: Gambers, Sheltons, Windsors and the Bowlings. Too many names to list, but she loved them all! Carol worked for Gabbert and Son Cleaning Service for 25 years. She loved the outdoors and working in her yard. She liked feeding the birds and squirrels in her back yard. She was a very giving person and was always trying to help others. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation Specialist of Central Illinois is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.csofil.com.
