I was so sad and sorry to learn that Dr. Carter was no longer with us. He was one of a handful of people who I consider a critical, important factor in my life. He became my physician when I was about 16 -- shortly after he started his practice in Sunnyland. It was the beginning of a great relationship. He saw me through so many illnesses and ailments and took a personal interest in my well-being. He once told me that I had lived three people's lifetimes in my one. He literally knew me inside out and upside down. He was the kind of doctor that sadly doesn't seem to exist anymore. He truly cared about his patients and always took the time to listen and understand them. Example: For any procedure I needed, I didn't want to know anything -- just tell me what to do and what time to be there. On the flip side, a friend of mine was also one of his patients and she wanted to know every tiny detail of any procedure. He knew his patients! When I had my daughter, she also became a patient. I will always remember when she was about five years old and said "I wish I would get sick". I asked her why and she said "because I haven't seen Dr. Carter for a long time and he's so nice".
I was so fortunate to have Dr. Carter in my life and know that there are a multitude of others who feel the same. He truly had an impact on my life and I will always be thankful to God for putting him in my life. My sincere sympathies go out to his entire family.
