Obituary of Loren Robert Dagit

Loren R. Dagit, 86, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born on February 13, 1938, in East Peoria, to Adam and Ethel (Keil) Dagit. He married Sherry Anne Witt on December 8th,1967; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Diane (Rock) Holke, Kelvin (Geneva) Dagit, Phillip Dagit, Denise (Darin) Dralle, Tina (Darren) Johnson, Harold Dagit, and Rod Dagit; his sister, Shirley Dagit Harris; 20 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Edith Dagit Sill, Dorothy Dagit Berry, Midge Dagit George, Fred Dagit, Dick Dagit, and Don Dagit; and 2 children, Robbie and Debbie Dagit. Loren was a proud member of the International Association of Sheet Metal Workers Local #1 for 55 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, drawing, painting, watching game shows, reading and studying the Bible, playing board games with his grandkids, and working on the house he built. Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation Specialist of Illinois is assisting the family. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Rock Church, 1081 Upper Spring Bay Rd, East Peoria, with a Time of Reflection beginning at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to www.pathwaypeoria.org.
