Obituary of Jeff R. Taylor

Jeff R. Taylor, 61, of East Peoria, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born on July 18, 1963, in Peoria, to Raymond and Marcella (Buell) Taylor. He married his wife of 36 years, Gloria Deding, on July 16, 1988; she survives. Also surviving are his children, Roger Taylor and Leslie (James) Gehris; his siblings, Jimmy (Kim) Taylor of Peoria, Chris (Rose) Taylor of Peoria, Randy (Christy) Taylor of West Virginia, Pam (Bob) Martinez of San Diego, CA, Penny (Kevin) Margetta of California, Michele (Joe) Keys of Pekin, Lee (Tina) Horton of Cape Girardeau, MO, Roger (Elyse) Horton of Washington, Dan (Hilary) Horton of Providence, RI, and Matthew (Gayle) Horton of Guntersville, AL; his stepfather, Rodger Horton; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella; 2 stepbrothers, Robert Horton and Elmer Taylor. Jeff worked as a truck driver for Morton Ready Mix Concrete Co., then more recently at Thornton’s in East Peoria. He enjoyed bowling and loved to sing karaoke. Cremation rites have been accorded.
